If you already know your way around a reformer and want classes that push you, Lighthouse Pilates & PT in Hollywood, FL runs two built for that: Level 2 & 3 and Sculpt Lab. A lot of people know us for beginner classes and never see the advanced side of the schedule, so here is what it looks like.

Level 2 & 3 is our most advanced group class

Level 2 & 3 is for clients who know the reformer and chair well. Most came up through our Level 1 and All Levels classes, and some arrive with years of Pilates from another studio. Because everyone in the room already knows the equipment, class can get straight into advanced reformer and chair repertoire, with heavier spring loads and exercises that take real strength and control.

Classes are capped at six people, which matters more at this level. Harder exercises leave less room for sloppy form, and with six people your instructor can watch you closely and add a progression when you're ready for one. We wrote more about why we keep classes small in The Impact of Small Pilates Classes on Your Fitness Journey.

Sculpt Lab adds free weights

Sculpt Lab pairs free-weight strength training with the reformer and chair. You'll work upper and lower body with free weights and resistance, then move to the reformer and chair for focused core and back work. Regular weight training like this also helps improve bone density.

Experienced clients get progressions that keep it hard. Newer clients can join with modifications, so Sculpt Lab also works as a step up from All Levels.

Programmed by a Doctor of Physical Therapy

Every class at the studio is programmed by Dr. Mary, a Doctor of Physical Therapy. The harder progressions are built on good alignment, and anything that isn't right for your body gets adjusted. If something needs more than a modification, physical therapy is available here with someone who already knows how you move. We explain how the two fit together in Pilates or Physical Therapy: Which One Do You Need Right Now?

When to move up

Most clients spend time in Level 1 and All Levels before joining Level 2 & 3. If the basics feel comfortable and you're not sure you're ready, ask after class, or call or text (954) 228-5790.

If you've done a lot of Pilates somewhere else, you don't have to start over. New clients start with a short assessment so we can match you to the right class.

Class times

Level 2 & 3 runs Tuesdays at 8:30 am and Saturdays at 9:00 am. Sculpt Lab runs Wednesdays at 8:30 am. The Book Class page on our site always has the current schedule.

We're at 4435 Sheridan Street in Hollywood. Call or text (954) 228-5790 with any questions, and we'll help you pick where to start.

If you'd like to add light weights to your reformer work, our post Sculpt Lab: Pilates with Weights in Hollywood, FL covers that class.
